We’re thrilled to announce the close of True Wealth Ventures Fund II!

In June, we announced the close of our oversubscribed $35 million Fund II and the news was shared on the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square! The Fund II close follows our 2018 $19.1 million Fund I — the largest venture capital fund ever raised at that time with an explicit gender-diversity strategy. True Wealth Ventures’ total AUM is now about $60 million. In addition to our focus on investing in women-led companies, another key differentiator is that more than 75% of capital raised by True Wealth Ventures across Fund I & Fund II is backed by 80% female LPs.
“While our primary mission continues to be getting early-stage capital to female founders whose core value proposition is improving environmental or human health, our secondary mission has been to facilitate more women investing into this asset class as LPs,” said Sara T. Brand, True Wealth Ventures founding general partner. “We not only believe this is the fastest way to change the gender inequality in the VC ecosystem, we also believe it is critical for our country’s innovation economy with the wealth shifting to women.” The news was covered in an exclusive article by Anita Ramaswamy in TechCrunch.”In an ecosystem where women make up just 2.4% of partners at venture firms, and considering that the vast majority of first-time funds never actually make it to closing, Brand and Rupp are used to beating the odds.”Read the full press release here. The story was also picked up by a number of other media outlets, including: PitchBookPrivate Equity Wire and Venture Capital Journal
