43% of women have a sexual problem, yet the funding, research, and solutions are a mere fraction compared to men’s. Women with sexual problems often see countless doctors for help but are unfortunately left without answers or treatment because women’s sexual health is not prioritized in medical training. Further, women’s sexual health is not one dimensional. Sexual function is complex and must be addressed as such.

Understanding every woman’s sexual journey is unique, and Rosy is a personalized and holistic experience. After a woman downloads Rosy, she takes her first sexual wellness quiz that allows Rosy to establish her baseline level of sexual health, track progress, and curate content.  She is then able to explore Rosy’s robust library of educational videos that address really common questions that many women have been unable to answer until now.

The Rosy platform also showcases ground-breaking classes led by top sexual health experts that take a deep dive into topics that have historically been ignored by our society like Cancer and Sexuality, Sexual Pain, and Sexual Trauma.  Additionally, Rosy users can utilize Rosy’s library of female focused and sex-positive erotica and customize their stories to multiple spice levels and genre preferences, while discreetly exploring this effective tool shown to improve sexual function.

The first-of-its-kind Rosy Community is a safe place where women can ask questions about sex, health, and relationships without any judgment, often for the first time.  Rosy’s community offers a place for women to recognize that they are not suffering alone with these issues, normalizing their experiences.  Rosy is committed to innovating for women and their sexual health in a shame-free and evidence-based way. Rosy is proud to be starting conversations and solving problems for women everywhere.

Meet Lyndsey Harper:

Background: Dr. Lyndsey Harper is a Board Certified Ob/Gyn, Associate Professor of Ob/Gyn for Texas A&M COM, a Fellow of The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.  Her passion for women’s health and her outrage at the inequities in the fields of men and women’s sexual health drove her to leave private practice and found Rosy in 2018.  Since then, she has been named Forbes Top 53 Women Disrupting Healthcare, People Newspapers’ 20 Under 40, a Top Innovator in North Texas for 2020 and a DBJ Top Woman in Tech.

Lyndsey Harper, MD; CEO & Founder of Rosy

Why Start Rosy? “Dr. Harper, I love my husband, but I honestly don’t care if we ever have sex again.”  As an ob/gyn, women would share many things with me.  I was able to help them through miscarriages, contraception, pregnancies, menopause, and even cancer.   However, when it came to sexual questions and problems, I had no idea what to do.  Many of my patients were coming to me with these issues, often obviously distressed and in tears.  The enormous amount of trust my patients afforded me contrasted sharply with my lack of ability to help them.  I started asking other ob/gyns, “How do you treat sexual problems?”  I was met with answers like: “Tell them to drink a glass of wine” or “Get a new partner.”  I quickly became aware that this was not just my inadequacy, but also a complete lack of education of an entire medical community.

Upon learning that evidence-based interventions did in fact exist to support women with low desire and other sexual problems, I became compelled to share them with as many physicians and their patients as quickly as possible to alleviate the isolation, shame, and suffering women were feeling.

This dream became a reality with the launch of Rosy’s first product, a convenient and private mobile platform that connects millions of women with the resources they need.  Rosy reassures women that they are not alone and gives them access to evidence-based solutions for help.”

Why Seek Venture Capital? “If I wanted to help a few hundred or a few thousand women, I would have stayed in private practice as a physician.  I want to help BILLIONS of women.  I want their shame and suffering to end TODAY.  We, as a society, have ignored women with sexual problems for centuries, and I do not want to see that in our history.  Venture capital give companies the fuel to grow quickly, and that is exactly what women need.”

Why True Wealth Ventures? “When I met Sara and Kerry, I knew I wanted them as investors in Rosy.  They share my passion for innovation in healthcare led by women.  We firmly believe that women can make the difference we want to see in the world while also running extremely capital efficient and effective companies.”

Have you seen women GPs bring a different perspective to the table? “I love working with and innovating for women. There is a sense of collaboration and communication that is unique when a woman is at the table. These skills often allow groups to get to the core of the challenge faster and solve problems in a more comprehensive and robust way, ultimately offering increased efficiency per dollar spent.”

Do you think a woman’s perspective is valuable to this market? “Without a woman’s perspective, this market wouldn’t exist.  For thousands of years, women’s sexuality has been viewed as a function of men’s pleasure or reproduction.  Without women standing up for themselves to be heard, these common problems that women experience would continue to go unaddressed.”

Words of Wisdom: “When in doubt, pick up the phone!  If there is new information, a potential miscommunication, or an unexpected tone in a text or email, call the other person.  So many emotions and hours are wasted when we don’t communicate clearly and work to get on the same page.  Most of the time, these could all be avoided with a simple phone call.”
